From Prince George to Tumbler Ridge
Friday 26th of May, 2023
Off on an adventure , starting with a trip into Tumbler Ridge, roads good all the way but other than a couple chipmunks that ran across the road did not see any animals. Very quite here , had a good dinner and in the morning going to Kinuseo fall, which is taller than Niagara Falls but not as wide. 51 kms of grave road, not bad travelling.kin
Spent the night in Tumber Ridge and in the morning was off to Chetwynd and then to Hudson Hope and the dams, the Peace canyon dam and the Williston dam which we drive over and back .

Off early in the morning through Camrose and south toward Stettler but did not go into Stettler where a tornado struck about the time we would have arrived there had we not gone further south and then easy to Hanna and then to Chinook where Vern’s grandfather had a farm and where he spent some time in the summer as a young boy. There is not much there now, the railway stopped going there years ago and all the tracks torn up, the grainers have been town down and only a few old houses are still there. could not find the old farm.

Heading south again Brooks to Vauxhall, Taber, Raymond and on to Cardston. Have been trying to stay off the freeways and just take much less travelled roads, see the country . First time I have ever seen antelope and seen a few in the southern part of Alberta. Did see a lot of ground squirrels who seen to temp fait by standing in the middle of the road or just on the edges. Must be their dare devil trait.
Cardston is very interesting, settled by the Mormons in the early 1800, they came by wagons from Utah. The interesting site that you can see from all side coming into the town is the temple. We visited , very interesting , get most of the history of the area while there. Then we went to the Remington Carriage Museum, a must see, hard to describe the collection that is there. It is also among a handful of dry towns in Southern Alberta but this is about to change if a bylaw gets passed
